January 23, 2016 – 5p. 5:30p. – 8:00p. – DiMenna Center for Classical Music – NYC – TIMOTHY SCHWARZ & YU XI WANG CONCERT – 450 West 37th St. (between 9th & 10th Aves.) – 10018 – Benzaquen Hall (elevator to 1st Floor)- www.oslmusic.org. Timothy Schwarz (Violinist)- www.TimothySchwarz.com & Yu Xi Wang (Pianist) – www.yuxiwang.com. Dr. Schwarz currently serves as Assistant Professor & Head of Strings at Rowan University. Dr. Schwarz is founder & Artistic Director of Techne Music – www.technemusic.com – which includes a summer chamber music camp & concert series. Prior to the Rowan University appointment, Dr. Schwarz was Assistant Professor at Kurtztown University, where he conducted the Kurtztown University Orchestra & taught violin / viola. Prior appointments have included Head of Strings at Lehigh University & conductor of the Wilmington Community Orchestra.
Yu Xi Wang – made her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2002 as the winner of the Artist International Competition & subsequently released her debut CD in China under JSCP. An avid soloist & & chamber musician, Yu Xi has performed in venues such as NYC’s Alice Tully Hall, Jay Sharp Theatre of Lincoln Center, Beijing’s Forbidden City Concert Hall, Rock Hall Auditorium at Temple University, Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University & Gore Recital Hall at the University of Delaware.
