“A Holiday Cabaret” takes the audience on a lovely ride through the most wonderful time of the year weaving the music of the Great American Songbook, old & new. Humor, passion & emotion combine through beautiful singing & story-telling to create this fun & entertaining evening. This program includes well known beloved standards integrated with the newest compositions of Jason Robert Brown, Jeffrey Blumenkrantz as well as other contemporary composers. There is something for everyone in this holiday cabaret!
Martha Bartz, mezzo soprano, performs steadily in the cabaret, classical, sacred & opera genres. Her versatility takes her across the US from Oratories / Cabarets in New York City, to the Opera Stage in the Carolinas, to recital halls across the east cost. Martha has been a guest artist with the NYC Chamber Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra & the Pilsen Radio Symphony Orchestra of Czechoslovakia. Martha has graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jersey & Gusman Hall in Miami, Florida. Martha resides in Charlotte, North Carolina & is a Professor of Voice at Catawba College.
Dr. Mory Ortman is an in demand freelance pianist, accompanist, vocal coach & music director in NYC. Mory frequently performs with Manhattan Concert Productions at Carnegie Hall & Lincoln Center. Dr. Ortman is the Music Director of the classical & musical theatre summer programs at Quisisana resort in Maine.
